A beach by any other name

Geographical characteristics are used to classify the Earth's dynamic coast line in to dynamic sections. Physical characteristics are used to create shoreline classifications. Knowing the relationship between dynamic sections a shoreline sections help create stable shorelines.

sand

I thought the sand activity was very interesting. I learned a lot about the different types of sand and that they arent just different colors. They can have different sized pebbles, different types of sediment, and also different textures. The sand can range from being purple, pink, white, yellow, red, and gray. The sand/ pebbles could be in big chunks or it could be different shapes and also they could be different texture. Some could be more rocky than others and some could be more powdery, and also some could be more grainy. I learned a lot about sand that I never really thought about before.

field trip

I had a great time on the field trip! I had so much fun on the boat and I learned so much while I was there. I learned how to measure the levels in the water and how to get the tempature of the water and I also learned how to map my current location. I liked the mapping a lot because it is a skill that i will need to use later in my life. It was cool to look at certain locations and then find the degrees on the map and then be able to find my exact location. I thought it was a great experience and it would be a good feild to do again for future classes.
